Kensington Blues, a book by photographer Jeffrey Stockbridge, documents the opioid crisis in the Kensington section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. For over five years Stockbridge documented those struggling with addiction and mere survival. Large-format photographs and found objects are paired with transcripts from Stockbridge's interviews with addicts, prostitutes, residents, and more. The book is a harsh reminder of other people's reality. Jeffrey's photographs tell an earnest narrative some shy away from accepting.
This book was designed, editing and completed in collaboration with the artist and a photo editor.
